CO-FOUNDER
INFANT FEEDING, PEDIATRIC OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Rochelle Stokes, OT, IBCLC
Rochelle is a registered Occupational Therapist of BC, graduating from the University of British Columbia in 2004.
For the past last 12 years Rochelle has focused on working with infants and children with feeding and swallowing difficulties. This has included completing a research Masters of Science focusing on parents’ experiences with their children with feeding difficulties.
In 2012, motherhood and experiencing her own breastfeeding challenges with a late-preterm lead her down a different path. Feeling completely blind-sided by how difficult it was to feed her baby while navigating a new occupation as a mother, Rochelle became passionate about building a service which she herself could have used. After 2 more babies, Rochelle had fully experienced how unique each feeding experience could be; from under-production to over-production, small babies and big babies, to tongue-ties and mastitis!
In 2019, Rochelle became a certified Lactation Consultant to augment her background in feeding. Rochelle’s occupational therapy lens brings a holistic approach to each client, recognizing that sometimes it is important to pause and recognize how hard this motherhood journey is. Addressing feeding needs to be done in the context of supporting the family.
In addition to private practice, Rochelle currently works at BC Children’s Hospital on a Complex Feeding and Nutrition Team.
Rochelle absolutely loves the West Coast. She is constantly trying to instil her loves of the mountains in her 3 kids through hiking and mountain biking. A passion for adventure and her giant chocolate lab help to keep her on her toes!
